Abstract: | Die Plattentheorie, die in der ingenieurtechnischen Anwendung auf Kirchhoff zurückgeht, hatte ihre Wurzeln jedoch schon in den mathematisch bahnbrechenden Arbeiten von Jakob Bernoulli, Chladni und Euler, die sich mit akustischen Problemen befaßten. Die Grundlage für Kirchhoffs Arbeiten waren jedoch die Forschungen von Sophie Germain auf dem Gebiet der Plattenschwingungen. |
