Abstract:	Als Grundlage für die Verwirklichung des europäischen Binnenmarktes im Bausektor wurde im Dezember 1989 die Bauprodukten-Richtlinie (BPR) erlassen. Mit ihr wurden u. a. die Regeln für die Verwendbarkeits- und Übereinstimmungsmachweise für Bauprodukte festgelegt. Weiterhin gibt die BPR den Rahmen für die wesentlichen Anforderungen an Bauprodukte vor, u. a. auch hinsichtlich des Brandschutzes.
