Abstract:	Der Beitrag setzt sich mit immer wieder anzutreffenden Schäden an historischen und neueren Sichtmauerwerksfassaden infolge von Umwelteinflüssen auseinander. Die häufigsten Schadensbilder werden beschrieben und deren Ursachen erläutert. Desweiteren werden Beurteilungsmethoden und -kriterien für geschädigtes Mauerwerk dargelegt und diskutiert. Darauf aufbauend werden sinnvolle Instandsetzungsmaßnahmen vorgeschlagen und erläutert.
