Abstract:	Dämmstoffe aus nachwachsenden und wiederverwertenden Rohstoffen werden hinsichtlich ihrer Eigenschaften, Klassifizierung aus bauaufsichtlicher Sicht sowie sinnvollen Einsatzgebiete dargestellt und kritisch durchleuchtet. Es werden der Einfluß der Feuchte auf die Wärmeleitfähigkeit, das Langzeitverhalten und die teilweise notwendigen größeren Dämmdicken besprochen sowie die ökologischen Aspekte wie Energiebilanz, Flammschutzmittel, Mottenschutz, Faser- und Feinstaubfreisetzung bei Verarbeitung und toxische Gase im Brandfall erörtert.
