Abstract:	Ketten und Hänger des 1824 von Johann Georg Kuppler erbauten Kettensteges sind bis heute erhalten, wegen einer 1931 errichteten Unterstützungskonstruktion jedoch ohne Tragfunktion. Nach einem Vergleich mit anderen frühen Hängebrücken wird über die Baugeschichte, Umbauten und Vorarbeiten zur Wiederherstellung der Hängebrücke berichtet.
