Abstract:	Bei Betonbrücken werden heute oft Fugen und Lager angeordnet. Die damit verbundene Trennung von Über- und Unterbauten hat sowohl funktionale als auch gestalterische Nachteile. Im folgenden wird versucht, die Vorteile der in Vergessenheit geratenen monolithischen Bauweise anhand von neuen Beispielen aufzuzeigen. Dabei werden der konstruktiven Durchbildung und der Formgebung des Tragwerks unter dem Aspekt der Dauerhaftigkeit besondere Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt.
