Abstract:	Die tragende Konstruktion der beiden Türme des Hochhausensembles am Münchner Tor stellt einen wichtigen Meilenstein in der Entwicklung des Hochhausbaues in Deutschland dar. Entgegen der für diese Höhen üblichen Skelettbauweise mit aussteifenden Kernen aus Stahlbeton besteht das Tragwerk der Hochhäuser des Ensembles komplett aus einer Stahlverbundkonstruktion. Über diese Konstruktion werden die vertikalen und - über Diagonalen im Sinn eines "end channel framing" - auch die horizontalen Beanspruchungen abtragen. Lediglich die dünnen Deckenscheiben und der Kellerkasten wurden aus Stahlbeton gefertigt. Durch das gewählte Konstruktionsprinzip wurden eine bis dahin nicht gekannte Transparenz und eine außerordentliche Schlankheit der Gebäude möglich.
