Abstract:	Die Entwicklung der Verbundbauweise im Hochbau wird aufgezeigt. Es werden die Meilensteine beschrieben, die in den letzten vierzig Jahren zu Entwicklungsschüben und damit zu ansteigender Bedeutung dieser Bauweise beitrugen: wirtschaftliche Verbundmittel, integrierter Brandschutz, fortschrittliche Anschlußtechnik und anspruchsvolle Architektur durch sichtbare Stahloberflächen.
