Und auch unsere Branche, die Baubranche, oder noch enger gesehen, der Stahlbau, muß nicht nur mit konjunkturellen Anpassungen, sondern auch mit grundsätzlichen strukturellen Veränderungen fertig werden. Es soll weder eine volkswirtschaftliche, wissenschaftliche Analyse zur Bewältigung des Strukturwandels gegeben werden noch ein Maßnahmenkatalog eines Unternehmensberaters formuliert werden, sondern Gedanken und Überlegungen vorgestellt werden, die ein mittelständischer Unternehmer anstellt, um das eigene Unternehmen zukunftsfähig zu machen.
