Abstract:	Das Heizkraftwerk besteht aus zwei Kesselhäusern mit je 300 MW Leistung. Durch seine Lage inmitten der Stadt wurden an den Umweltschutz höchste Ansprüche gestellt. Nach Beginn der Bauausführung im Jahr 1982 wurden die Bestimmungen der TA-Luft verschärft. Der Baukörper mußte deshalb umgeplant werden, und für jeden Kessel wurde nachträglich zusätzlich eine Rauchgasentschwefelungsanlage (DeNOx) eingebaut. Nach endgültiger Fertigstellung und Inbetriebnahme der Gesamtanlage Ende 1988 kann das Kraftwerk zusätzlich rd. 55 000 Wohnungen mit Fernwärme versorgen.
