Title:	Bahnhofshallen im Osten Deutschlands
Abstract:	Die Geschichte des Eisenbaus ist eng verbunden mit der Ausprägung des Konstruktiven Ingenieurbaus im 19. Jahrhundert [1]. An der Eisenbahn läßt sich die Entstehung des Neuen der mechanisierten Zivilisation exemplarisch ablesen [2]. Die großstädtischen Bahnhöfe, insbesondere die großen Hallenbauwerke, machen einen Abschnitt der Geschichte des Konstruierens unmittelbar erfahrbar. Die Beschreibung der Bahnhofshallen in Ostdeutschland ist Auftakt einer Reihe, die in loser Folge über die Konstruktionsgeschichte ausgewählter Bauformen berichten wird.
