Abstract:	Zu den beliebtesten Tragsystemen des Eisenhochbaus der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts zählte der Wiegmann-Polonceau-Träger. Das erste größere Bauwerk in Deutschland, an dem dieser Träger eingesetzt wurde, war die Schrannenhalle in München (erbaut 1851-53). Die Wiedereröffnung der wieder aufgestellten Schrannenhalle im September 2005 gibt den Anlaß, die statische Modellbildung für diese Trägerart durch die Literatur zum Eisenhochbau der Zeit zu verfolgen und die Wechselwirkung von Berechnungsmethoden und Modellbildung zu analysieren.
