Abstract:	Das im folgenden vorgestellte Verfahren dient der automatisierten, großflächigen Überwachung stählerner Konstruktionen mit Hilfe einer zerstörungsfreien Prüfung. Hierzu werden piezokeramische Elemente in Form von Arrays auf die zu überwachende Struktur appliziert und dann sowohl als Sensoren als auch als Aktuatoren eingesetzt. Mit Hilfe der geeignet angesteuerten Piezoelemente gelingt es, definierte Plattenwellen im Bauteil zu erzeugen. Aufgetretene Schädigungen können durch das veränderte Antwortverhalten der Struktur detektiert werden. Neben anderen Signalverarbeitungsverfahren wird hierbei das Prinzip des sog. Beamformings auf der Sensorseite eingesetzt. Anhand des Beispiels einer 6 mm dicken Stahlplatte wird die Sensitivität der Schadensdetektion demonstriert.
