Abstract:	Julius Weisbach (1806-1871) schuf mit seinem zweibändigen "Lehrbuch der Ingenieur- und Maschinen-Mechanik" (1845-1887), seinem Handbuch "Der Ingenieur" und der Zeitschrift "Der Civilingenieur" eine dem Stand der Industriellen Revolution in Deutschland verpflichtete Darstellung der Technischen Mechanik nach Inhalt und Form. Er unterzog die gesamte Artefaktwelt des Ingenieurs der damaligen Zeit erstmals einer einfachen und verständlichen Analyse durch die Technische Mechanik. Mit diesem enzyklopädisch angelegten Publikationssystem gelang es Weisbach, die historisch-logische Mitte der Disziplinbildungsperiode der Technischen Mechanik (1825 - 1900) auf gültige Weise darzustellen.
