Abstract:	Die neue Rheinbrücke Wesel im Zuge der B 58n befindet sich zur Zeit in Bau. Das insgesamt 773 m lange Bauwerk wird als einhüftige Schrägseilbrücke mit einer Hauptöffnung von 335 m ausgeführt. Mit seinem 130 m hohen Pylon wird das Bauwerk die flache Rheinlandschaft nachhaltig prägen. Die Brückenkonstruktion unterteilt sich in den 409 m langen Stahlüberbau der Strombrücke und die 364 m lange Spannbetonbrücke über das linksrheinische Vorland. Beide Abschnitte sind biegesteif miteinander gekoppelt. Der Aufsatz beschreibt die statischen, konstruktiven und gestalterischen Besonderheiten des Bauwerks aus der Sicht der Entwurfsverfasser und geht auf die Ausschreibung und Vergabe dieses herausragenden Bauvorhabens ein.
