Abstract:	In den letzten Jahren hat der vorbeugende Brandschutz für Tunnelbauwerke stetig an Bedeutung gewonnen. Aufgrund von Brandkatastrophen wurden neue Konzepte angedacht, die insbesondere unter Beachtung der spezifischen Randbedingungen des Tunnelbaus, eine alleinige Schutzwirkung dem Tunnelbeton zuweisen, indem dem Beton Kunststofffasern hinzu gegeben werden. Aus mehreren Forschungsvorhaben und Praxisanwendungen ist mittlerweile bekannt, dass die Zugabe von Kunststofffasern einen positiven Einfluß auf das Brand- und Abplatzverhalten von Betonen hat und zur deutlichen oder gar vollständigen Reduzierung von explosionsartigen Abplatzungen führen kann. Nachfolgender Bericht fasst hierzu den aktuellen Stand der Technik und die Vorschriften zusammen.
