Abstract:	Seit der Wiedervereinigung ist Berlin zu einem Ort reger Bautätigkeit geworden. Standorte, die durch den Mauerbau eher ins Abseits gedrängt worden waren, sind nun wieder eine 1-A-Lage und wurden entsprechend hochwertig neu bebaut oder saniert. Dem Berliner Leitbild der Kritischen Rekonstruktion verpflichtet, zeigen die Gebäude oft nach außen nicht, welche großen Ingenieurbauwerke sich hinter den Fassaden verbergen. Im Folgenden soll an ausgewählten Beispielen die als Verbundtragwerk ausgeführte Konstruktion dahinter vorgestellt werden.
