Abstract:	Für die raumabschließenden Elemente der neuen Antarktisstation Neumayer III wurden - entsprechend den enormen Anforderungen aus dem antarktischen Klima - vorfabrizierte Sandwichelemente verwendet. Für den Raumabschluss der Labor- und Wohnbereiche kommen Sandwichelemente mit Mineralfaserkern und magnesitgebundenen glasfaserbewehrten Deckschalen zum Einsatz. Diese Technik wurde aus dem Schiffbau übertragen. Für die raumabschließenden Elemente der Außenhülle wurden Sandwichelemente mit Polyurethan-Hartschaumkern und verzinkten, organisch beschichteten Stahldeckschalen verwendet. Für Teil bereiche wurde dabei eine neue Befestigungstechnik entwickelt.
