Abstract:	In den zurückliegenden zwei Jahren wurde die Cottbuser Pseudobasilika Sankt Nikolai modernisiert; dabei waren die Anforderungen zum Brandschutz zu werten und denkmalverträglich einer Lösung zu zuführen. Umgesetzt wurden die Belange des Personenschutzes. Nutzungsspektren außerhalb des Gottesdienstes, wie die touristische Besteigung des Westturms, haben bis dahin unterschätzte Sachverhalte zur Klärung aufgezwungen. Der Artikel soll zum Nachdenken anregen, welche Anforderungspalette sich auftut, wenn sakrale Bauten anderen Nutzungsspektren geöffnet werden.
