Abstract:	Die am häufigsten auftretenden Probleme und Lösungsmöglichkeiten beim Bau und Ausführung von offenen Senkkästen werden beschrieben. Offene Senkkästen sind im Vergleich zu verbauten Baugruben wesentlich wirtschaftlicher, im besonderen wenn Grundwasser ansteht und eine Grundwasserabsenkung benachbarte Gebäude gefährden würde. Ein wirtschaftliches Plus ist vor allem auch bei Neuverlegung (Stadtgebiet) von Abwassersammelleitungen im Tunnelvortrieb in Form von Abwasserschächten, die gleichzeitig als Anfahr und Ankunftsschächte für die Tunnelvortriebsmaschine dienen, zu verzeichnen.
