Abstract:	Es wird über die Erweiterung eines bestehenden Trockendocks in Kiel berichtet. Es werden zunächst in allgemeiner Form die wesentlichen Bestandteile eines Trockendocks und deren Konstruktion erläutert. Besondere Beachtung verdient hierbei die Docksohle, da diese je nach Bauzustand des Schiffes durch hohe Vertikallasten und im Gegensatz dazu nach Lenzen der Dockkammer durch negative Auftriebskräfte beansprucht wird. Grosse Bedeutung kommt deshalb der Tragfähigkeit und sorgfältigen Ausführung der Bohrpfähle unter der Sohle zu, da die diese durch Druck- und Zugkräfte beansprucht werden.
