Abstract:	Der Absturz des Brückenträgers ist bei mässiger Seismizität die wichtigste Versagensart von Brücken unter Erdbebeneinwirkung. Durch phänomenologische Überlegungen mit numerischer Auswertung und Eichung konnten einfache Regeln für die Mindestabmessungen der Auflagerbänke in Brückenlängsrichtung entwickelt werden. Die resultierenden Bedingungen können meist ohne oder ohne wesentlichen Mehraufwand erfüllt werden.
