Abstract:	Bei der Ermittlung der Bruchlast von Zugpfählen werden meist zwei Nachweise geführt: Mantelreibung und Gewicht eines als Gegengewicht aktivierten Erdkörpers. Die Meinungen über das massgebliche Kriterium und die Form des Bodengegengewichtskörpers sind unterschiedlich. Auf der Grundlage von zahlreichen Ergebnissen werden Fragen wie die Form des Erdkörpers, die Ausbreitung der Schubspannungen im Umkreis eines Einzelpfahls und der Einfluss verschiedener Pfahlherstellungsverfahren auf die Scherfestigkeit des angrenzenden Bodens diskutiert.
