Abstract:	Seit September 2006 wird der Flughafen Schönefeld zum neuen Airport Berlin-Brandenburg International (BBI) ausgebaut. Ab 2011 wird der gesamte Flugverkehr der Region Berlin-Brandenburg auf dem Airport im Südosten der Hauptstadt konzentriert. Das Konzept sieht einen modernen Flughafen mit kurzen Wegen vor, bei dem das Terminal zwischen den beiden parallel angelegten Start- und Landebahnen liegt. Der BBI ist ein Flughafen der neuen Generation: kostengünstig, funktional, weltoffen und erweiterungsfähig. Vorgesehen ist für 2011 eine Startkapazität von bis zu 27 Millionen Passagieren im Jahr. Der Flughafen kann für eine Kapazität von bis zu 45 Millionen Passagieren ausgebaut werden. Über die einzelnen Teilprojekte wie das Terminal, den Bahnhof, eine der drei Feuerwachen und den Kontrollturm wird ausführlich berichtet. Aber auch in anderen deutschen Städten und im Ausland so in Paris, Mumbai und Salzburg - werden Flughäfen und die entsprechende Infrastruktur neu gebaut, saniert oder erweitert. Das Special "Flughafenbau" stellt ausgewählte Objekte und Problemlösungen für Akustik, Brandschutz, Tragwerke usw. vor. Airport Building Since September 2006 Schönefeld airport is being developed into Berlin-Brandenburg International (BBI). From 2011 onwards, all passenger flights for the region will be concentrated on this airport located southeast of the German capital. The concept is for a modern airport with short walking distances, since the terminal is situated between the two parallel runways. BBI is thus a new-generation airport: cost-efficient, functional, cosmopolitan and expandable. At the time of its opening in 2011, an annual capacity of up to 27 million passengers is envisaged. However, the airport can be expanded to accommodate up to 45 million passengers. This issue reports in detail on individual projects such as the terminal, the integrated railway station, one of the three fire stations and the control tower. Yet airports and their infrastructures in other German cities and abroad such as Paris, Mumbai and Salzburg are also being built, repaired or expanded. This special issue presents selected projects and solutions for acoustics, fire protection, and structures, etc.
