Abstract:	An Steil- und Flachdächer werden heute immer höhere Anforderungen gestellt. Solarthermie und Photovoltaik sind mittlerweile fast selbstverständlich. Aber darüber hinaus bieten gerade Flachdächer zahlreiche weitere Nutzungsmöglichkeiten - als Dachterrassen, Verkehrswege oder Grünflächen, als Spielflächen für Kinder, Erholungsraum oder Parkfläche für PKW. Gerade in den Großstädten sind Flachdächer mittlerweile kaum noch als Dächer zu erkennen, weil der Zweitnutzen immer mehr in den Vordergrund tritt. Und natürlich gewinnt durch ein Flachdach auch das Innere des Gebäudes. Es geht kein Raum für Dachschrägen oder Dachverschneidungen verloren, jeder Winkel wird optimal genutzt. Auch dem Architekten bieten sich völlig neue Möglichkeiten. Das alles erhöht auch den Wert der Immobilie. Voraussetzung sind langzeitsichere Flachdächer. Schließlich ist das Dach das am meisten beanspruchte Bauteil eines Gebäudes: Regen, Schnee, Wind, Temperaturdifferenzen, UV-Strahlung und Windsog müssen berücksichtigt werden. Für Langzeitsicherheit sorgen insbesondere eine fachgerechte Planung und Ausführung, aber auch die Wahl der optimalen Abdichtung. Letztere nimmt auch in diesem Special wieder breiten Raum ein. Weitere Themen sind Tageslichtsysteme, Dachbegrünung, Solartechnik, Dämmsysteme, Entwässerung und Monitoring. Flat roofs 2010 Nowadays, steep and flat roofs are subjected to increasingly high demands. Solar thermal and photovoltaic energy are almost par for the course these days. However, flat roofs offer a number of further possible uses - as roof terraces, paths or green areas, as children's playgrounds, recreational spaces or parking lots for automobiles. In the meantime, in cities flat roofs are hardly recognizable as such, since their additional uses figure all the more prominently. And of course the inside of the building also benefits from a flat roof. No space is wasted due to sloping ceilings or intersections; every corner is exploited to the full. Plus architects also have completely new possibilities. All this increases the value of the property. The prerequisite is flat roofs that will last a long time. After all, the roof is that part of a building subjected to the most stress: rain, snow, wind, temperature differences, UV radiation and wind suction all need to be taken into consideration. Expert planning and execution in particular ensure long-term use, but so does the choice of optimal weatherproofing. The latter is a focus of this Special. Other topics include daylight systems, green roofs, solar technology, insulation systems, drainage and monitoring.
