Abstract:

Load tests as a precondition for the restoration and conversion of industrial buildings.
By means of an example, it is demonstrated that the restoration and conversion of existing buildings may require an experimental evaluation of the structural safety. For a complex of industrial buildings, sufficient load-carrying capacity could not be verified by structural analyses. However, load tests of the existing differently constructed concrete ceilings allowed to prove structural safety.
