Abstract:	Auf dem Weg vom hydraulischen Mörtel zum Stampfbeton kennzeichnen auf dem Festland nach wie vor einige Namen wichtige Streckenabschnitte: COINTEREAUX steht für die in seinen weit verbreiteten Schriften sorgfältig beschriebene Herstellung von feuerfesten ländlichen Bauten aus gestampften Erden; VICAT veranlasst mit seinem Erfolg, gezielt mit Wasserkalken “Beton” herzustellen, seinen Apologeten LEBRUN, diesen weiterzuentwickeln und bei Hochbauten und Brücken einzusetzen; COIGNET, ein Fabrikant und Chemiker, der sein ganzes Wirken und sein Lebenswerk der planmäßigen Herstellung eines Stampfbetons mit gezielten Eigenschaften erfolgreich widmet, berücksichtigt LEBRUNs Vorarbeiten lediglich in einer Fußnote. LEBRUNs Einbettung in die Geschichte des Betons verdient wegen seiner Bauwerke eine Korrektur. Lebrun's inclusion in the history of concrete deserves to be corrected based on the structures he built.
