Abstract:	Aufgrund seiner geringen baulichen Höhe fügt sich das neue Parkhaus wie selbstverständlich in die Umgebung ein und führt das Westpark Konzept des “Grünen Rahmens“ sinnvoll weiter. Das Gebäude ist parallel zur ThyssenKrupp-Halle ausgerichtet: Nach Osten, Süden und Westen zeigt es ein städtisches Gesicht mit einer perforierten Fassade aus schwarz-grau-roten Kohlebrandziegeln, im Norden geht die begrünte Dachlandschaft symbolisch in die Böschung der Auffahrtsstraße über. Die für diesen Ort identitätsstiftenden Gebäude - das “Colosseum“, der Wasserturm und die Jahrhunderthalle - bleiben aus allen wichtigen Blickrichtungen unverstellt. Zwei getrennte Bewegungsabläufe für Autofahrer und Fußgänger ermöglichen eine schnelle Orientierung und kurze, sichere Wege innerhalb des Leitsystems. Multi-storey car park “Century hall” Bochum - a perforated masonry façade for the industrial area “Industriepark West”. The new multi-storey car park integrates well and self-understanding into the surrounding, because the height is quite small, and the architectural concept of Westpark, the so-called “green frame” is fulfilled perfectly. The building is oriented parallel to the “Thyssen-Krupp-Hall”, means it faces to east, south and west as like the town itself showing a perforated façade consisting of black-grey-red sintered coal bricks, and to north the green roof scenery symbolically migrates to the acclivity of the driving ramp. The dominating buildings in this area - “Colosseum”, water tower and the century hall - are still visible from each viewing direction. Two separate moving systems allow a very simple orientation for car-drivers and pedestrians as well and assure a short and safe moving within the guidance system.
