Abstract:	Es wird über die Grundlagenermittlung, über Planung und Ausführung des Hochwassersperrwerks an der Mündung der Eider in die Nordsee berichtet. Aufgrund der schweren Hollandsturmflut 1953 und der Februarsturmflut 1962 wurde beschlossen umfangreiche technische Anstrengungen zum Schutz der Nordseeküste zu unternehmen, wie Deichsanierung, -erhöhungen und -begradigungen sowie die Errichtung von Küstensperrwerken.
