Abstract:	Kostenkontrolle ist der Vergleich einer aktuellen mit einer früheren Kostenermittlung. Die Kostenkontrolle kann in den Phasen der Planung lediglich vorkalkulatorisch sein. Erst mit der Beauftragung der Bauleistungen an ausführende Firmen, mit der Ausführung und Abrechnung der Vertragsleistungen, meist begleitet durch Änderungen der Planung, werden die geplanten Kosten Schritt für Schritt zu Istkosten. Mit der tatsächlichen Kostenentstehung und der dabei durchführbaren Kostenkontrolle bezogen auf die Bauausführung, mit ihren Bedingungen, Risiken und der Erklärbarkeit von Kostenänderungen befaßt sich der Aufsatz.
