Abstract: | Herrn Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. The revised guideline DASt-Richtlinie 022 on preventing cracks during hot dip galvanizing. Hot dip galvanizing of structural steel elements may lead to cracking if the conditions are not favourable. Due to the safety relevance a series of research work has been carried out the results of which led to the DASt-Richtlinie 022 on the prevention of cracking during hot dip galvanizing. After seven years of successful use the DASt-Richtlinie 022 now has been revised. The paper explains the changes and amendments of this German code. Apart from simplification, the alternations refer to new results on the crack-susceptibility of cold forming, the salt-content of the flux and the layout of lattice girders. Moreover, for the first time now, rules on hot dip galvanizing in the high temperature range (530 °C to 620 °C) have been developed. Finally recommendations on ventilation hole-diameters are given. |
