Durch die Digitalisierung verändern sich unser Leben, unsere Gesellschaft und ganze Wirtschaftszweige. Sogenannte Disruptoren wie Apple, Google, Uber und viele andere führen in kürzester Zeit zu einer Neuordnung einer Branche. Beispiele für disruptive Technologien sind unter anderem die Digitalkamera, das Smartphone, das Elektroauto und eben auch das CAD (Computer Aided Design), das in den 90er Jahren die technische Handzeichnung mit Tuschestift und Zeichenbrett innerhalb kürzester Zeit ersetzte (Bild 1).
Digitaler Prozesswandel, das parametrische Entwerfen und der Einsatz von BIM als Planungsmethode führen vermehrt auch im Bauwesen zu grundlegenden Veränderungen in den Planungsprozessen und Planungsschnittstellen. Sie ermöglichen die Planung, Berechnung und Umsetzung deutlich komplexerer Bauwerke, führen zu durchgängigen Prozessketten zwischen Planung, Ausführung und Nutzung, und ermöglichen die koordinierte Bündelung aller Bauwerksinformationen in einer Projektdatenbank. Durch die Veränderung unserer Prozesse hin zu einer teamorientierten Planungsmethode lassen sich Paradigmen aufbrechen und Fehlentwicklungen korrigieren. “Aber dafür müssen wir heraus aus der Deckung, selbst ausprobieren und mitreden [1]”.

The digitization in the building industry is a chance - about process chains and necessary changes of paradigm.
The digitization changes our lives, our society, and all sectors of the economy. So-called disruptors, such as Apple, Google, Uber, and many others lead to a reorganization of an industry in a very short time. Examples of disruptive technologies are among other things the digital camera, the smartphone, the electric car and also the CAD (computer aided design), which has replaced within a very short time the technical drawing with ink pen and drawing board in the 90s (Fig. 1).
Digital process change, parametric design and the use of BIM planning method lead increasingly also in the construction industry to basic changes in the planning process and planning interfaces. It enables the planning, calculation and implementation significantly more complex structures, lead to continuous process chains between planning, execution, and use and enable coordinated bundling of all building information in a project database. By changing our processes towards a team-oriented planning method paradigms can be changed and mistakes can be corrected. “But therefore we must leave the defense, must try out the possibilities and talk together [1]”.
