Abstract:	Schubert gilt als Erbauer der ersten deutschen Dampflokomotive und als Konstrukteur der Göltzschtal- und der Elstertalbrücke aus Ziegelmauerwerk. Im Beitrag werden diese Leistungen im Zusammenhang mit seinem Gesamtschaffen betrachtet.
