Abstract:	Das Oskar von Miller Forum in München präsentiert vom 10. November 2017 bis zum 14. Januar 2018 eine Ausstellung mit dem Titel “Visionäre und Alltagshelden. Ingenieure - Bauen - Zukunft” in Kooperation mit dem M:AI Museum für Architektur und Ingenieurkunst NRW. Als Erfinder, Gestalter, Unternehmer und Macher stellen Ingenieurinnen und Ingenieure im Bauwesen die Erfüllung der Grundbedürfnisse der Gesellschaft sicher. Die Ausstellung setzt sich zum Ziel, den Beruf von Bauingenieurinnen und -ingenieuren sowie die Bauwirtschaft selbst als eine der Schlüsselindustrien in wirtschaftlicher, sozialer und gesellschaftlicher Hinsicht zu zeigen. Gleichzeitig wird der spannende und vielseitige Leistungsumfang der Ingenieurinnen und Ingenieure und damit auch der Bauwirtschaft in allen Facetten dargestellt: faszinierend, umfassend, innovativ und lösungsorientiert. Von der Historie kommend mit dem Schwerpunkt auf aktuellen Projekten werden Ingenieurpersönlichkeiten, ihre Netzwerke und Innovationen sowie herausragende Bauwerke vor dem Hintergrund der jeweiligen gesellschaftlichen, wirtschaftlichen und politischen Einflüsse in Szene gesetzt. Visionaries and everyday heroes - On cultural and technological relevance of civil engineering. The Oskar von Miller Forum in Munich presents an exhibition titled “Visionaries and Everyday Heroes. Engineers - Build - Future” in cooperation with the M:AI Museum für Architektur und Ingenieurkunst NRW from November 10th 2017 till January 14th 2018. As inventors, designers, entrepreneurs and doers, they are both visionaries and everyday heroes. The exhibition outlines the historical development of the profession, building a bridge to the present and giving an outlook on the future. Protagonists and milestone projects, traditional building projects and innovations document the social, cultural and technological relevance of civil engineering.
