| Abstract: | Ein gitterartiges Kuppeldach ist das zentrale Element des neu eröffneten Louvre Abu Dhabi. Das fünf Fußballfelder große Dach aus Metall liegt an nur vier Punkten auf und wird über ein Tragwerk aus leistungsfähigen Hohlprofilen von Tata Steel aufgespannt. Unzählige Schichten aus Drei-, Vier- und Achtecken schufen ein kompliziertes Muster, das an ein Blätterwerk erinnert. Star-Architekt Jean Nouvel bemühte sich bei diesem imposanten Bau um eine zeitgemäße Interpretation islamischer Architektur und spielte mit den Elementen Licht und Geometrie.
