Large-size sandwich elements with layers made of textile reinforced concrete - Investigations on sandwich panels
In the last years, the energy requirements imposed on building envelopes became more stringent in Germany. For conventional constructed buildings with core-insulated sandwich elements with reinforced concrete layers, this means a continuous increase in outer wall thickness due to thicker insulation. In order to be able to use the economic sandwich construction method also in the future, large-format, lightweight and energy-efficient elements were developed in the course of an research project. To achieve the research objective of producing slim, large-format sandwich elements suitable for practical use, layers of 30 mm thin textile reinforced concrete were used. This innovative composite material enables components with low cross-sectional thickness and high load-bearing capacity.
This article presents the structure of the elements, the production of large-sized test specimens and the first experimental results.
