Implementation and integration of digital solution in the construction processes of special foundations This paper presents the actual status of digitalization of construction processes and the multi-relational approach between data sources at Züblin Spezialtiefbau GmbH. Resources such as personnel and rigs are assigned to projects more efficiently through a parametrized digital resource planning system, which takes into account the whole set of projects under preparation and execution and the constrains in the choices of the suitable resources. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is used in the tender phase not only to derive quantities but, additionally, to identify unknown risk factors at an early stage and optimize planning by implementing 4D methods. BIM is also applied in execution as a source of design data and, moreover, to track the actual status of the elements to be built. This provides a better overview of the ongoing works at the site. Production data are collected through apps by the workers and stored in a cloud-based database. These data allow target/as-built comparisons and other types of evaluations, e.g. performance analyses. The machine data captured by the rigs are interpreted to discern the exact duration of drilling phases. Based on this information, net and gross drilling performances can be determined and a better insight of the actual soil profile can be obtained. The combination of these digital solutions provide clarity in the building operations, higher reliability and quality of the data, and, in general, improvement of the construction processes. |
