Title:	SIA 2057 - Merkblatt zum Glasbau in der Schweiz
Abstract:	In der Schweiz gab es bisher keine Bemessungsgrundlage basierend auf einer nationalen Norm für Glas, weshalb zumeist unterschiedliche, ältere und neuere, ausländische Regelwerke angewendet wurden. Dies führte in der Vergangenheit immer wieder zu Problemen, auch da das Normenverständnis in der Schweiz anders geprägt ist als z. B. in Deutschland. Im August 2021 wurde das SIA-Merkblatt 2057 Glasbau veröffentlicht, welches diese Lücke schließt und einheitliche Grundlagen für die Schweizer Baubranche schafft. Unter der Berücksichtigung neuester Erkenntnisse aus Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft wird ein breites Anwendungsspektrum von Glasanwendungen und Bauteilen behandelt. Das Merkblatt 2057 folgt den bewährten SIA-Grundsätzen, nur dort zu reglementieren, wo es notwendig ist, um auch Innovationen zuzulassen. Neben einfachen Methoden steht es Ingenieuren und Ingenieurinnen frei, alternative und innovative Wege zu beschreiten. Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt das Merkblatt 2057 in seinen Grundzügen und im Kontrast zu vergleichbaren Regelwerken vor. SIA 2057 - glass construction in Switzerland Until recently, designing and constructing with glass in Switzerland was not performed on a uniformly regulated basis due to the lack of a national standard for glass. Therefore, foreign regulations and codes were typically applied. However, this practice repeatedly caused problems, partially because of a different under-standing regarding the usage of standards in Switzerland compared to Germany, for example. In August 2021, the SIA guideline 2057 Glasbau has been published to close this codification gap and to create a uniform design basis for the Swiss construction industry. A wide range of glass applications is covered, taking into account the latest findings from business and science. The guideline 2057 follows the well-proven SIA principles of regulating only where necessary. Thus, a flexible application of the code is made possible and innovation is encouraged. In addition to simple design/dimensioning methods, engineers are free to pursue alternative and innovative paths in glass design. The present article provides a comprehensive summary of the SIA guideline 2057 in contrast to other, comparable codes such as the German DIN 18008.
