Abstract:	Bei gewissen Großprojekten des Brücken- und Hochbaus gewinnt die Frage nach dem Verhalten des Gesamttragwerks nach einem hypothetischen lokalen Versagen an Bedeutung. Die Gründe hierfür werden erläutert. Am konkreten Beispiel einer vielfeldrigen Spannbetonbrücke werden die in der Praxis anzustellenden Überlegungen, zu erbringenden Nachweise und die sich ergebenden Entwurfskonsequenzen dargestellt und diskutiert.
