Abstract:	Die im Jahre 1747 in Frankreich gegründete École nationale des ponts et chaussées, die Staatliche Hochschule für Straßen- und Brückenbau, kann von sich behaupten, die älteste Bauingenieurschule der Welt zu sein. Nachfolgender Beitrag, der anläßlich ihres diesjährigen 250. Jubiläums verfaßt wurde, schildert in einem kurzen Überblick die Geschichte der Schule seit ihrer Gründung bis zum heutigen Tag.
