Abstract:	Fritz Leonhardt war an der gesamten Entwicklung der Schrägkabelbrücken maßgebend beteiligt. Seine Tätigkeit umfaßt die Düsseldorfer Brückenfamilie, Entwürfe für Spannweiten bis 1300 m, die Entwicklung eines neuen Types von Schrägkabeln, eines neuen aerodynamisch stabilen Querschnittes und grundsätzliche Erkenntnisse zum Tragverhalten. Er und seine Mitarbeiter haben Schrägkabelbrücken in aller Welt entworfen und ausführungsreif bearbeitet, sowohl in Stahl als in Beton und in Verbundbauweise.
