Abstract:	Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird über die theoretischen Grundlagen und die Anwendung des nichtlinearen FE-Programms MASA für Bauteile aus Beton und Stahlbeton berichtet, das in den letzten Jahren am Insitut für Werkstoffe im Bauwesen an der Universität Stuttgart entwickelt wurde. Nach einer Einführung in die Modellierung quasispröder Materialien werden der Aufbau des Programms und das "Microplane"-Materialmodell für Beton erläutert sowie Verfahren (Rißbandmethode bzw. nichtlokale Integralmethode) vorgestellt, die gewährleisten, daß die Ergebnisse der numerischen Analyse nicht wesentlich von der Elementierung abhängen. Abschließend werden vier Berechnungsbeispiele aus der Ingenieurpraxis dargestellt und diskutiert.
