Title:	Zur Entwicklung des Ingenieurbaus
Abstract:	Dem anspruchsvollen und weitgreifenden Titel dieses Beitrags konnte schon wegen seiner begrenzten Länge nur durch zeitliche und thematische Eingrenzung entsprochen werden. Der Brockhaus definiert "Ingenieurbauten" aus heutiger Sicht als solche, deren Ausführung "vorwiegend durch technisch-konstruktive und statische Gesichtspunkte bestimmt wird". Er nennt als Beispiele unter anderem Brücken, Hochhäuser oder Talsperren, aber auch Türme und Hallen. Danach fallen natürlich der Eiffelturm, aber auch die Breslauer Jahrhunderthalle zweifelsfrei in diese Kategorie.
