Abstract:	Der Entwurf zur Nordpolbrücke Bochum ging aus der Zusammenarbeit von Hegger Hegger Schleiff Architekten (HHS Architekten und Planer), Kassel, und Bollinger + Grohmann, Frankfurt/Main als Tragwerksplaner in einem Workshop und Wettbewerb hervor. Die Fußgängerbrücke ist Teil eines Projektes zur Rekultivierung des innenstadtnahen ehemaligen Gießereigeländes der Firma Krupp. Es handelt sich um eine Ganzstahlkonstruktion von rund 100 m Länge aus geschweißten Hohlkastenträgern, die von wechselseitig angreifenden, V-förmig angeordneten Schrägstreben unterstützt wird. Die Horizontalaussteifung erfolgt über pfahlgegründete Massivwiderlager. Die Brücke weist einige bemerkenswerte konstruktive Details auf.
