Abstract:	Bei der klassischen Schalentheorie dünner Schalen werden die Spannungen und Verformungen in einem dreidimensionalen Kontinuum durch die eines zweidimensionalen Kontinuums mit den Verformungen der Schalenmittelfläche ausgedrückt. Mit der Arbeit wird ein Grenzwert für das Verhältnis h/r, das Verhältnis der Schalendicke zum Schalenradius, vorgeschlagen ab welchem die viel kompliziertere Theorie der dicken Schalen anzuwenden ist.
