Structural Engineering - Providing Solutions to Global Challenges

Logo IABSEThe conference will focus on Structural Engineering for addressing global challenges and ensuring sustainable growth of our society by providing a high quality built environment. Responsibilities of the structural engineer and collaboration with other disciplines will be addressed to engage a wider community and decision makers.The conference will reveal the significant impact that Structural Engineers have on society’s welfare.

The Call for Abstracts resulted in an impressive 500 abstracts being submitted for the IABSE Conference in Geneva. The conference is presented under the heading 'Providing Solutions to Global Challenges' which is addressed by four global themes:

  • Climate Change and the Energy Challenge
  • Global Engineering Challenges
  • Break-through technologies
  • Urbanisation and Growth.

The topics of the scientific and technical sessions within the four global themes have been selected based on a Call for Contributions to which IABSE Working Commissions, Working Groups and individual members submitted a rich collection of proposals of session topics and formats.
