Title: | The steel-glass art of railway stations in Japan |
Abstract: | With authors'sincere thanks to Dr.-Ing. E.h. Karl-Eugen Kurrer Karl-Eugen Kurrer on closure of his service as Editor-in-Chief of STAHLBAU In Japan, the new steel-glass architecture of railway stations observes usually not only the typical canons of aesthetics but often also - increasingly - the local habits, traditions and social features. Moreover, such architecture is understood to respect well the natural and built environment - forming friendly compositions, which respond fairly to the needs of contemporary Japanese people. Thus, that architecture becomes certain steel-glass art of structures. In this paper, on the basis of several practical examples, such special steel-glass art will be presented. Die Stahl-Glas-Kunst der modernen Eisenbahnstationen in Japan. Die neue Stahl-Glas-Architektur der Eisenbahnstationen in Japan beobachtet nicht nur die typischen Regel der Ästhetik, sondern oft auch bzw. zunehmend die örtlichen Gewohnheiten, die Traditionen und die sozialen Merkmale. Darüber hinaus berücksichtigt diese Architektur die natürliche und die erbaute Umwelt. Durch freundliche Kompositionen reagiert sie auf die Bedürfnisse der heutigen japanischen Bevölkerung. So wird die Architektur zu einer gewissen Stahl-Glas-Kunst der Strukturen. In diesem Beitrag wird auf der Grundlage einiger praktischer Beispiele eine derart spezielle Stahl-Glas-Kunst vorgestellt. |
