Abstract:	Im Aufsatz werden Konstruktionen von Öltanks vorgestellt, die im Falle von aussickerndem Öl aus dem Haupttank eine Boden- und Grundwasserkontamination verhindern. Es werden Möglichkeiten für Abdichtungssysteme aufgezeigt, die das Ausbreiten der Schadstoffe im Havariefall begrenzen. Bei vertikalen Zylindertanks mit Doppelmantel und Doppelboden werden solche Abdichtungssysteme nicht benötigt; diese Tanks werden ebenfalls vorgestellt. Der zweite Teil des Aufsatzes ist solchen Ausführungen gewidmet, die die Emission flüchtiger Kohlenwasserstoffe begrenzen. Es werden Prinzipien der Brennstofflagerungen vorgeführt, wie z. B. Tanks mit Festdach. Weiterhin werden Untersuchungsergebnisse über die Wirkung zweier Abdichtungstypen der Schwimmdächer besprochen, die bei Erdöltanks angewendet werden.
