Abstract:	Die feuchteadaptive Dampfbremse ist eine Innovation, die seit ihrer Markteinführung im Jahr 1997 sehr hohe Umsatzzuwächse zu verzeichnen hat. Das liegt vor allem an ihren besonderen Dampfdiffusionseigenschaften, die dazu führen, daß bei ihrem Einsatz trotz wirksamen winterlichen Tauwasserschutzes ein großes sommerliches Austrocknungspotential für das gedämmte Bauteil besteht. Der Beitrag beschreibt, wie der Weg von der Idee einer solchen Dampfbremse über die Spezifizierung der Diffusionseigenschaften durch rechnerische Simulation zum marktreifen Produkt verlief und welche Hürden zu überwinden waren.
