Abstract:	Die ständige Verbesserung des Wärmeschutzes an Wohngebäuden läßt die Frage aufkommen, inwieweit zukünftig Einzelfeuerstätten, wie Kamine oder Kachelöfen, überhaupt noch im modernsten Wohnungsbau erforderlich oder vertretbar sind. Unter Berücksichtigung individueller Bewohner-Bedürfnisse und dem Einsatz des Kohlendioxid-neutralen Brennstoffes Holz werden Wege aufgezeichnet, wie sowohl konventionelle als auch den Erfordernissen angepaßte Einzelfeuerstätten im modernen Wohnungsbau Bestand haben können.
